The three names
Two spectators are each asked to think of a girl’s name (because your sister in law is pregnant and names are a big issue at the moment in your family.) You explain that you have a boy’s name in your head, and you ask the spectators to think what this boy’s name might be.
You write three names on a three sheets of paper and you put the sheets in a bowl. The two spectators come up with Rose and Lily (for instance, they can come up with any other girl’s name). Ask the spectators what they think the name you had in mind was. ‘John,’ one of them says.
The three sheets of papers or taken out of the bowl and the three names are revealed: (1) Rose (2) Lily (3) John.
The Three Names is completely self working, it’s a really easy to do mental effect. Especially for beginners in mentalism, because The Three Names does not use difficult moves or other typical magician’s gadgets. All you need is a pen or pencil, three pieces of paper and a bowl or glass.

‘The three names’ staat ook in het boekje dat je krijgt als je OAP bestelt, met de speciaal gemodificeerde pennen komt deze truc nog beter over.
1-2-3 Card
You show a deck of cards to a volunteer from the audience. Every card has a number written on the back. You explain that the cards are numbered from 1 to 52, in an order reflecting the structure of the human mind itself. The deck is fanned open to show that the cards are all normal – there is nothing out of the ordinary about them beyond the large numbers on their backs.
The volunteer selects three cards, and these are laid on the table, face-up. The cards are turned over, and it is revealed that the volunteer has selected cards numbered 1, 2 and 3. Since this is far more than a coincidence, you explain that it is the product of mind control and behavioral psychology.
No sleight of hand. No rough/smooth. No specially printed cards. No gaffs or gimmicks. No svengali principle. No stripper principle. No marked cards. No one way force deck. No ultra thin cards. No assistants or stooges. Just one single deck of cards and a permanent marker.

3@3
The spectator selects three cards from a regular deck. You give him three envelopes, numbered 1, 2 and 3. The spectator puts a card in each envelope. You then show him that you too have three envelopes, likewise numbered 1, 2 and 3. You suggest that you open the three envelopes simultaneously, starting with envelope 1.
The envelopes which are numbered 1 are opened. They contain the same card, the 5 of Hearts. The envelopes which are numbered 2 are opened: both contain the 9 of Diamonds. You finally open envelope 3 – again the same card is found in both envelopes: the Queen of Spades.
No rough/smooth. No specially printed cards. No gaffs or gimmicks. No svengali principle. No stripper principle. No marked cards. No one way force deck. No ultra thin cards. No assistants or stooges. No difficult sleights. This trick can be done with just two decks of cards and six envelopes. You can use any decks of cards, like an old deck which isn’t smooth anymore and another one which is incomplete.

The snap card trick
You show a deck of cards to a spectator and tell you are going to read his mind in a few seconds. The spectator is asked to close his eyes while you ribbon spread the cards. He opens his eyes and mentally selects a card. You square the deck.
After a little chat you say which card he had in mind. Guess what? You’re spot on! You can perform the Snap card trick with one, but also with two spectators. And if you are bold, audacious, and daring you can perform it with even three spectators. Create this wow-effect yourself. It’s easy to set up and easy to perform, but it will give you a great satisfaction and it will leave the spectator puzzled.
This trick is completely self working, it is a really easy to do mental effect. No sleight of hand. No rough/smooth. No specially printed cards. No gaffs or gimmicks. No svengali principle. No stripper principle. No marked cards. No one way force deck. No ultra thin cards. No assistants or stooges. Nothing up your sleeve.
